How the diploma is awarded
- Maximum score is 45: six subjects × 7 points + 3 core points from TOK and the Extended Essay.
- You need at least 24 points to pass, with no E in TOK or the EE and no grade 1 in any subject.
- Further conditions apply that this tool simplifies — at most two grade 2s, at most three grades of 3 or below, and minimum point totals in your HL subjects (12+ across three HLs) and SL subjects.
- World average is around 30 points; most universities publish the total and subject grades they expect.
